The Source dies but Matt Murphy lives on

July 3rd, 2007 by Steve

It looks like Birmingham’s 101.1 The Source just died — or the portion remaining after they fired Russ and Dee and brought Hank Irwin on board. As I’ve been a guest on many of their programs and even guest-hosted there before, it will be missed by me. The good news is that my old buddy Matt Murphy seems to still have a job.

Russ and Dee and my wife and I are trying to get together over the next few weeks, so perhaps some juicy tidbits will come out of that conversation.

Doesn’t bother me a bit. i enjoyed matt, but the others were just too boring and too bush-loving. When they fired the attack machine, i was very upset, because i thought they were the best thing that happened to the source. So i made a promise i would never listen to that station again. The withdrawal from murphy was rough, but i made it. And now i am much happier listening to 105.5 with lex and terry. Much better
