A tale of two fundraising events

July 22nd, 2007 by Steve

It looks like there are two upcoming presidential fundraisers in Alabama. To begin, Bill Clinton will be in Birmingham to raise money for Hillary’s campaign. Since I enjoy cigars, it might be fun to smoke one with Bill, but there is no way I’d ever let one thin dime of mine help finance the presidential candidate I most despise. It would almost be worth it just to hear him defend the Democrat’s plan to add the $10 tax per cigar. BTW, I used to really dislike Bill, but since Bush’s presidency, I’d welcome Clinton’s back in a heartbeat.

Up the hill in Mountain Brook, Fred Thompson will be dropping by to pick up some $2,300 checks, too. Yo Mountain Brook, wake up! The presidency is not some acting gig, but a real-life job which can cause a lot of people to lose their civil liberties or die. Thompson’s policies would be so similar to Bush’s you won’t be able to tell the difference. He’s just an actor, folks — if you wish to vote Republican and to make a real difference, I’d strongly suggest this candidate.
