Brokeback Republicans

For those who live in a cave, Idaho Republican Senator Larry Craig was busted for lewd behavior of a less-than-hetero nature in an airport bathroom. Since then, the Mitt Romney campaign has ordered Craig to keep his mitts away from the Romney campaign. For starters, the campaign has removed a video of Craig expressing his love for Romney. Don’t ask me why, because in politics, what happens on the Internet stays on the Internet. Craig has also stepped down as the Idaho chair of the Romney campaign.

Of course, there are major implications within the Mormon-gay-bathroom-sex voting block, from which Romney may no longer receive any benefit.

Here’s some advice to the GOP. If you are going to get caught in a bathroom sex scandal, it’s a lot cooler getting caught joining the Mile High Club with Paris Hilton in a cramped airplane bathroom than trying to stick some cop’s hooha in your hooha in a dirty airport bathroom.

   I love every second of this. As I said on Thomason Tracts, I could care less what the senator does in the airport bathroom, but I’m pissed that he that he tries expresses his insecurity about his sexuality by amending the US Constitution to discriminate against homosexual marriages.

   Idaho’s Governor is a libertarian. Perhaps the most libertarian Governor in the Nation.

   Let’s hope he appoints a libertarian Republican as Craig’s replacement.

   Rumor mill is already churning that Otter might very well appoint a libertarian-leaning Republican like Cong. Bill Sali.

   This is turning into a boom for the libertarian movement. Replacing a ho-hum boring ass Conservative with a solid libertarian-leaner in the US Senate.
