Smart Pachyderms?

October 21st, 2007 by Steve

I’ve got to disagree with Andrew Sullivan on this one.

Some fascinating new research suggests that the pachyderms have learned to distinguish between two different tribes of potential human predators - depending on the humans’ smell and even clothing.

If elephants are so skilled at distinguishing between harmless folks and those with nefarious bloodthirsty intentions, explain why they re-elected Bush in 2004.
