In case anyone wonders why they booted Ron Paul supporters from Redstate, it’s because folks at the pro-Bush policy site aren’t bright enough to distinguish between commonly spoken words in the English language which begin with the same letter. For example:

Isolationists are attracted to the Libertarian Party and Him-who-must-not-be-named in the Republican primary. Of course some of HWMNBN’s support also comes from peaceniks. There is probably even a good overlap between these first two groups. Not all libertarians or libertarian-leaning people are isolationists, for example Glenn Reynolds of Instapundit. The isolationists tend to be the hard core libertarians.

I’ve explained it before, but I suppose it’s time to repeat the lesson for the folks at RedState.

Isolationism…

…is a foreign policy which combines a non-interventionist military policy and a political policy of economic nationalism (protectionism). In other words, it asserts both of the following:

1. Non-interventionism - Political rulers should avoid entangling alliances with other nations and avoid all wars not related to direct territorial self-defense.
2. Protectionism - There should be legal barriers to control trade and cultural exchange with people in other states.

Not to be confused with the non-interventionist philosophy and foreign policy of the libertarian world view, which espouses unrestricted free trade and freedom of travel for individuals to all countries.

Nonintervention…

…or Non-interventionism is a foreign policy which holds that political rulers should avoid alliances with other nations and avoid all wars not related to direct territorial self-defense. A similar phrase is “strategic independence”.^[1]

Isolationism is nonintervention combined with economic nationalism (protectionism). Most non-interventionists are not isolationists. Most, like Thomas Jefferson and Ron Paul in the United States, favor nonintervention combined with free trade and free cultural exchange.

If we can get these folks to comprehend the concept of non-interventionism, perhaps next we can get them to understand other simple ideas — such as small government and fiscal conservatism.

   I told ‘em - in a blog over there:

   ..if as site mods, this is the best policy that you can come up with to deal with the supporters of an actual Republican candidate you don’t like, it tells me that you are trying to “shelter” your readers from some uncomfortable facts of life.

   Well, good luck with that. Me, I’d rather be accused of being “liberal” than finding myself compared with an intellectual condom.

   Well, I said one or two other things, but that was probably the thing that did it.

   And they banned me and deleted my blog. Then they “clarified their position further.” That’s reproduced in my post, just in case they revise history again.

   I’m relieved to find that there doesn’t seem to be a heck of a lot of favorable mention for RedState’s jackboot tactics.

   But it did amount to an unintentional big wet financial kiss in terms of exposure for Ron Paul. The irony pleases me deeply.
