No Bob Barr Presidential Bid

November 19th, 2007 by Steve

When the rumors of a possible presidential bid by former Congressman Bob Barr surfaced, I tried to get someone to take a bet that he wouldn’t run.  It’s a shame that no one took my bet, because Barr officially ain’t running.

This has given me a very interesting thought: I’ve been wondering the past couple months, “Who would be Ron Paul’s vice presidential running mate if he wins the Republican nomination?” Perhaps Bob Barr would be the perfect choice!

Back to the question of who would be Ron Paul’s vice presidential running mate, I think I figured out a potentially better person than Bob Barr:

A former congressman who just recently endorsed Ron Paul, who was a fellow congressman fighting with Dr. Paul for constitutionally limited government, the son of one of the last great libertarian-conservatives – Barry Goldwater Jr.

Imagine that: a Paul/Goldwater ticket! That would get a lot of sleeping traditional conservatives, constitutionalists and libertarian-leaning republicans out to vote!

Here’s the link about Goldwater endorsing Paul:
