Survey Says: Ron Paul Has Zero Supporters Aged Less than 45

November 27th, 2007 by Steve

Something about this survey looks incredibly funny to me. It says that Ron Paul has 0.0% of Florida voters aged from 18 to 44, but does have support of people in the 45+ brackets. While I haven’t been in Florida since this campaign began, anecdotal information provides that Ron Paul is doing well with younger voters across the country. When a survey indicates absolutely no Ron Paul support for people in these younger age brackets, it can’t be trusted and I’ll have to disregard the entire set of results as inaccurate.

H/T to Rolf.

UPDATE: James informs us that the poll is part of what is currently the lead story at RealClearPolitics. Since Stu Rothenberg did a trash-and-burn of Ron Paul this morning on the same site, it’s beginning to smell like some political agenda is at play.
UPDATE II: Eric Garris provides a recent Iowa campus survey showing that Ron Paul not just registers on the polls, but he is the most popular GOP candidate there. I realize that Iowa isn’t Florida, but college students are somewhat transient, too. Surely they could have found one Ron Paul supporting student at one of Florida’s libertarian-leaning campuses.

Yeah, its totally false. Ron Paul simply owns the youth demographic.

The poll also says that 90% of the likely voters are 45 years old or older. I know there are a lot of retired people in Florida, but I doubt that 90% of the voters are over 45.

Lead story on Real Clear Politics, which tracks all polls:

This is the same poll that says RP is at 0.0% among those under 45.

    Hmmmm??

Funny I live in Florida; am 43 years old, a ron paul supporter, and campaign volunteer. I see NO signs or bumper stickers anywhere for anyone except for Ron Paul. The 2 meetup groups I belong to are mostly made up of people age 20-45. Some are college kids.

I do know that here in the orlando area our florida gop is pushing romney.

From what I have seen and read on that website (especially that feeble POS written yesterday by Stu Rothenberg, apparently while trying to pass a particularly recalcitrant turd), it would be much better named “Really Murky, Biased, Ignorant, Lazy, Smug, Pro-Establishment Politics”.

[laughing] No young supporters in Florida. Great, they dissed us again! This sounds like a challenge. Looking forward to how the younger folk of Florida flex their Ron Paul mojo. I wish EVERY state would dis us. [still laughing]

    Not Ouch.

You can easily win a 6-way primary with a 41% unfavorable.

The only people who don’t like him are those that are rah rah for the war on terror. That number is unlikely to change.

And others will come round to Dr. Paul’s views.

Expect a 1st or 2nd place finish for Dr. Paul in NH.

    Ouch!

Ghouliani is only at 9% in the latest SC poll.

They only ask “likely primary voters”, which means people who voted in the last republican presidential primary. Bush ran basically unopposed as the incumbent, so all the independents voted in the democratic primary, and turnout was only 6%. A lot more people than that are going to turn out this time. These polls don’t ask anyone in the 18-22 age bracket, because they weren’t old enough to vote in the last primary.
