Ron Paul Starting to Play Real Politics
December 15th, 2007 by Steve
I noted yesterday that the “official” Ron Paul campaign is finally becoming more politically active, as opposed to merely being an ideological campaign. This prediction from a local source about the Iowa caucuses provides a bit more evidence regarding the political angle of his campaign (emphasis added):
Third Place
Ron Paul — Having a base of hardcore supporters is one key to caucus success. On this count, Ron Paul may be ahead of the rest of the field. And Paul has as visible an operation as any Republican candidate here.

Steve,
I am in Iowa and that is not what I am seeing. Maybe I am blind, but Romney and Huckabee are the only two Republicans with any campaign organization. Of course, they are part of the dying Republican Party and right now murderers are about as popular, in Iowa, as Republicans are.
On the Democratic side I would say Clinton, Obama, Edwards, Richardson, and Dodd all have a campaign organization. I am starting to see Biden signs around West Des Moines and Waukee, but I don’t think he has much of a chance with only a few weeks to go. If Obama can get the young voters out he would most certainly win. Hillary Clinton will have less of a challenge as her supporters appear to be older and will caucus. I would be watching Bill Richardson.
As always it will be interesting to see what happens in the smaller counties. Ron Paul appears to have some support there and may be able to do well, but with the exception of Romeny and Huckabee I would not say any Republican has much organization.
