What’s next on the agenda at the Spectator? Suggesting that President Bush and Paul Wolfowitz be awarded the Nobel Peace Prize?

McCain IS another Barry Goldwater… In the sense that he’ll win only Arizona and the South and get totally killed everywhere else.

Aside from the fact that the Spectator houses some of the worst writer I have ever read, the comparison should be the other way around. If McCain were to be Goldwater, true he would lose, now…But he would lay the foundation for a movement that would control the White House for much of the next 60 years. If he were Reagan, he would copy some groundbreaking Republican’s ideas (in this case Goldwater’s) and just make them more political (i.e. not going to the TVA and saying there shouldn’t be a TVA), but advocating most of the same policies with regard to smaller government. As for me, I would take someone with the courage of his convictions, and the foresight, of Goldwater. Look at it this way, he produced Reagan, and Hillary, so…
